Recycling & Composting
Single Stream Recycling
The campus single stream recycling program allows acceptable material to be placed into a single container. Any recycling receptacle on campus accepts paper, cardboard, beverage containers, newspaper, pizza boxes, shredded paper, chip bags, magazines, etc.
Food Composting
Most food items here are CPP can be composted through food waste collection bins on campus. Pre-consumer scraps from food preparation and uneaten food are placed into biodegradable bags at various dining locations. CPP's food waste composting program has cut down the waste which was previously going to a landfill.
Green Waste Composting
The Landscape Department collects green waste throughout the campus and places the materials into specified dumpsters. The waste hauler then composts the material into mulch. Mulch and reusing plant material is part of our long-term effort to improve plants here at CPP.
