½ûÂþÌìÌà Alumni Association Volunteer Guidelines & Expectations
What is an Alumni Volunteer?
½ûÂþÌìÌà alumni volunteers are individuals who freely choose to donate their time and resources to assist ½ûÂþÌìÌà in the following ways:
- Program or event panelist, speaker, moderator, or facilitator
- College or University based board or advisory member
- Alumni Association chapter leader
- Mentor, including in person or virtual
Without the promise or expectation of receiving compensation for their services.
Volunteer Expectations & Guidelines
- Act in a professional manner as a representative of ½ûÂþÌìÌà University
- Respect, uphold and support the vision, mission, and strategic initiatives of the ½ûÂþÌìÌà and/or ½ûÂþÌìÌà Alumni Association.
- Serve as a ½ûÂþÌìÌà champion and goodwill ambassador among peers and in the community.
- Know general facts about the university, as well as how to refer others to the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Alumni Association website and social media.
- Share your ½ûÂþÌìÌà experience and how it has prepared you for success after college with fellow alumni, students, prospective students and families.
- Do not make any comment or promise regarding the possibility of a student’s admissibility
- Identify yourself as a ½ûÂþÌìÌà alumni volunteer.
- A ½ûÂþÌìÌà volunteer is expected to abide by ½ûÂþÌìÌà policies and regulations that govern their actions, including but not limited to those of prohibited against discrimination and harassment, ethical behavior, confidentiality, financial responsibility safety, and substance use.
Qualifications:
- Effective communicator
- Enthusiasm for ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ
- Ability and desire to interact with people from different backgrounds
- Ideology aligned with ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ’s goals and objectives
