This photo is a practice run for a holiday photo shoot I'm planning! Not precisely getting Tangled in the Tinsel, but close! A few things...(1) I'm happy with my light string drape look. Next shoot with this get up though, and I will change to a location with more window light - diffused again like it is behind me in this picture. I really like the soft light coming in from the window, I just want more of it because my face is really only illuminated by the light bulbs on the string and light below the face is not the best look. (2) I wore a different shirt for you, so be happy. (3) I like the book case in the background, but the angle and placement of the subject [me] is not balanced in the photo and it's a bit distracting.
++Note: I am also taking film photos of all of these poses and I will try to post those as I get into darkroom to develop and print them. FOR IMPROVEMENT I would fix my hair and add more diffused light and balance the subjects' placement better. AS FOR THE UNIVERSE - I'm learning to not be so critical of how I look in photos (or anywhere). This self-portrait exercise is also a kind of 30-day challenge to look into my own face and stop cringing. Ha! Such deep lessons in photographing myself. Well let's keep it up. JOY. She said. LET'S SHOOT FOR JOY.
