I Built a Unicorn..
Did I tell you that I've made a unicorn?
I made this unicorn costume to be like a "vaudeville" example from the 1920's...
IT WOULD MAKE A GREAT PHOTO.
I shipped it to myself in NY because I scheduled and met models in NYC that were all going to meet me at the SE corner of Central Park.
I was going to face-paint three of them as mimes and dress one as THE UNICORN.
Ahhh...but there's a WHOLE story behind that...
IT DIDN"T HAPPEN.
I ended up flying home early.
I had flown out to spend two and a half weeks in NYC to hang and procure my second solo photography show at Soho Photo Gallery....annnnd,,,
My back went out...
Out like a light that got switched into the OFF position.
The night of my series:; YOU AS ANGEL opening (Tues, Dec. 6th) I was flat on my back on a heating pad (that I got limping and groaning at the nearest Walgreens to my Brooklyn rented apartment.)
And also due to other precarious health conditions...I made haste back to home & doctors in Portland. Dear Portland, Oregon, my home.
And so...I couldn't make my scheduled shoot to photograph a unicorn and three beautiful mimes.
I will forever regret that cancellation.
But necessary it was.
And so now I'm presenting you the photo story of creating this unicorn costume.
And maybe word will get out that I need a Portland model for the unicorn and three more for MIMES...
Concept Design anyone?
