Men: Distortions

Modeling: @johnawilliam, @savagebatchtank, and @andrew.kaiser.photography

This is an ode to the loving, strong men out there - everywhere. With current tides turning in our social structures and culture, we all value the progress that has been made of late. And yet, many men (the good ones) feel as though their value might be getting lost. The loving, kind, strong-as-hell, sensitive, progressive, respectful, understanding and listening men DO EXIST and live with us everyday. Yes, let us cast out the ones doing harm. But do not let progression made lead to a general misrepresentation; a DISTORTED idea of all men, take hold. May disrespectful and hurtful behavior no longer be tolerated. While also still seeing the good, gentle, funny and strong and sensitive men in our midst. They march with us. They stand beside us. They lift us up, they agree, they are compassionate and understanding. They know equality is right. The most loving men are the strongest men - and this is true. DISTORTIONS is a reminder to us all to stay vigilant against hateful disrespect, but nurture and encourage love and understanding in all men. Where there is love there is infinite power; no DISTORTION of that holds true..

What Pregnant Women Think About

***This series won 2 Fine Art Honorable Mentions in the Int'l Photography Awards in 2017. It also won Benjamin Von Wong's special contest last summer 2017, and this series won Honorable Mentions in the ND Awards Lastly, it won finalist in the Women Seen by Women contest that ulitmately showed in Barcelona in April 2018.

This series puts on display the thoughts and words women often deal with in society today - when coming to terms with themselves and their body. How do we think of our body? How do we compare it to others? How to we end the negative cycle of comparative thoughts and belittlement? Which words empower us as we view ourselves? Reflections upon this subject is an important, sometimes, lifelong endeavor for women today. Transitioning from a negative body image to a positive one is difficult and often scary, but the journey is well worth one's acceptance. May positivity reign.
