This assignment, or theme to shoot was a little challenging. I wanted to get LINES of people, but I picked the wrong area of town and the wrong time of day...so I may post an update to this assignment soon.. I went straggling to the Pearl in Portland. Everything is under construction and there are new buildings being built all over - so I thought this might lend itself well to LINES> I caught a lot of obvious geometric lines and want to do better... I do not go to the touristy parts of Portland, but for this follow up I may need to check out VooDoo Donuts line (always a 30+ minute wait) for sure. Here are my favorites so far: This next two were from a different part of town (NE Sandy) when I realized I was a bit limited by my first choice of area...and I got one BAM! (old car too, which I love - FinsUpBaby!) And another two.. And finally - THIS IS WHY I LOVE TO GO OUT AND SHOOT "ASSIGNMENTS" ... Because I get images I would never normally take if I was not out looking for something and come upon the unexpected... Keep shooting your cameras! I am discovering photography is a discipline as well as an art form -and- I must stay agile with my eye. It is like playing an instrument - I must constantly practice and enjoy the long life of fascination. JOY.

There are two things we all need to bear in mind when it comes to our personal memory-keeping - time and money. It's important to keep the time commitment in mind but it's also important to keep the budgeting part in mind so that you don't get derailed and become demotivated.
